AIR-FREE TRANSFER IN SITU TEM HOLDER

TEM holder designed for performing in situ experiments such as solid state battery cycling, biasing and heating on air-sensitive samples. The holder was developed by a battery researcher with special considerations to difficulties in handling specimens in a glove box. The specimen can be loaded in a glove box in a user-friendly manner and transported to the TEM without exposure to air.

SALIENT FEATURES

• Air-free (inert gas) or vacuum transfer

• Double tilt up to 30 degrees*, allowing atomic resolution imaging

• 8 electrical connections allows application and collection of multiple signals, for example, simultaneous biasing and heating using 4-probe methods

• User-friendly (patent pending) sample loading mechanism that does not require use of small parts or tools. The user places the sample in the “parking area” and simply pushes it under the guides while the spring loaded connector secures the sample

• Compatible with both MEMS-based chips and standard 3.05 mm TEM grids

• Available for ThermoFisher/FEI microscopes, JEOL version coming soon

AIR-FREE TRANSFER MODULE FOR SEM/FIB

The module consists of a small chamber that can be mounted on to the SEM stage. The chamber can be opened and closed remotely. It allows loading air sensitive sample(s) in a glove box, sealing the enclosure and transportation to SEM/FIB without exposure to air. After performing SEM analysis, in situ experiments or FIB sample lift out, enclosure can be sealed in argon or vacuum for transporting back to the glove box for storage or transferring to stages for other types of experiments (X-ray, TEM etc). For example, a FIB lift out sample prepared using this module can be transferred to ZoNexusTM air-free transfer TEM holder for further analysis.
